Suggested Workshops for the Beginning Furniture Maker
The following classes are available for individuals: Tool Tune-Up, Basic Joinery, Veneering & Inlay, Cabriole Leg/Carving a Ball & Claw Foot, Sunburst Veneering, and more. You are not limited to these topics, however. If there is a particular aspect of tool sharpening, joinery, carving, finishing, making decorative elements, etc. in which you are interested, please call 740-972-6304 or email Mark to discuss your ideas.
Sessions are scheduled with Mark at a mutually agreed upon date and time, typically on a weekend. Workshop time is billed at $100/hr plus materials, with a minimum of three hours per session required. All classes emphasize hand skills and hand tool use although machines are presented and used as needed. New students usually begin with a tool tune-up class and then progress to stock preparation, joinery and other topics.
Woodworking is inherently dangerous. Students are required to sign a waiver of liability before work begins.
Payment is requested by the end of your class. You may send a check before your class to:
Boston Woodworking Co. Ltd.
423-A South Galena Rd.
Sunbury, OH 43074
If you change your plans or become ill and cannot attend a previously scheduled lesson after having paid, a refund less $25 will be issued. A full refund will be issued if we cancel the session.
